In 2019, I started my little business officially, creating clean ingredient bath, body, and shower products. Slowly, I’ve grown, adding new products here and there. They’re not just products though, they’re products with multiple uses or benefits.
After several years of self-discovery and working on myself, the products I created have become an integral part of my self-care and self love journey. In giving myself the time and space to create a self-care routine, our daughter has begun her own self-care journey.
She saves money and buys products, helps me in my workshop with packaging products or choosing colors and aromas, or they ask our magical elf, Peppermint Gumdrop for a self-care advent calendar with all of moms products in it, helping her grow her collection. Recognizing when she’s overwhelmed and stepping away to do guided meditation, coming back completely refreshed and peaceful.
It blows my mind, watching this beautiful little girl of ours, lean into who she is because she’s watching me do it. She watching me do yoga or another workout, practicing mediation, having a hot bath with salt soak or a shower with a shower steamer. Whatever it is, she’s observing, and she’s noticing how peaceful and relaxed I become after practicing self-care, and it’s sparked it within her.
These are the reasons I keep creating despite all of the challenges we have faced over the past 4 years. Supply chain challenges, ingredient shortages, 200-300% pricing increases, and the personal life happenings that have added their own challenges, including relocating and essentially relaunching my business.
Seeing our daughters, before our eyes, develop their own self-care routines and witnessing the spark within them in doing it, has been a truly magical experience.
They’ve lit the spark in me too, to push myself more. To concentrate on who I am and who I want to be, to grow my self-care routine, to fuel my body and mind with all that it asks for, to lean into the emotions, the challenges, and everything else we may face.
